iCal stuck "moving calendars to server account" after El Capitan update

Updated both my iMacs to OS 10.11.6. All well until I opened iCal. Now both iCal programs are hung up "moving calendars to server account." Left programs open for over 24 hours, no change. Restarted both machines, but notice still shows up each time I open iCal. Calendars work fine on all family's iphones. Any quick fix for this problem?
