macbook air os x yosemite 10.10.5
There is a check next to my wifi, and diagnostics says wifi is working properly. my wireless is working because i can navigate on the internet, but the toolbar shows wifi symbol with exclamation point in it. How come?

it means you are broadcasting and/or sharing a wi-fi signal though your network sharing
>System Preferences>Sharing
Internet sharing is not selected and shows it off when I open the System Preferences > Sharing. Any other ideas?
When I click on the wifi symbol with exclamation point it reads:
WiFI: On (grayed out)
No Internet Connection
Turn Wi-Fi Off
send a screen shot similar to the first one I attached, the icon with the drop down.
\Below turn wi fi Off are the wifi networks near me. And then the name of my network with the check next to it.
