Aug 5, 2016 2:27 PM in response to annemarie195by sberman,You are talking about two different things:
- Using AirDrop. This should continue to work, and does require Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- Attempting to connect your Mac and iPhone using Bluetooth. You should not do this, as these devices do not connect to each other (in the same way you would connect, say, speakers or headphones). A Mac and an iPhone do not "pair" or "connect."

Aug 5, 2016 3:28 PM in response to annemarie195by elcpu,You are not alone on this. My MBP and iPhone/iPad often do the same.
Try a Forced Restart. It usually resolves it for me. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.
Also try restarting the Mac if the above does not resolve.
