Q: Hyperlink to file on server not working.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with links in Mail is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to make a hyperlink active when making a message in Mail, even though other people on the same network can do the same process as expected. Here is how I suggest narrowing down and resolving this issue:
1. First, try quitting and re-opening Mail while holding the shift key, then test your hyperlink issue again. This will temporarily prevent the Mail app from re-opening its documents and windows, and here is more info on this process:

2. You can figure out if unexpected behavior is related to user file or setting by trying to reproduce the issue from another user account. This process includes creating a new user account, logging in to it, and testing for the issue.

3. Use Safe Mode to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, delete system cache files, verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed.
