Do magsafe pin burn because of power fluctuation?

Hi,

I have late 2013 Macbook Pro (retina) which I bought in the USA. Now, I am using it in India.

One of the 85W Magsafe 2 power adapter's pins is burnt and stuck. It is the tiny pin next to the large one.

The corresponding connector in the laptop also got burnt.

To power the laptop, I have to attach and detach the magsafe several times to get it work. Is it due to

power fluctuation? The magsafe also getting very hot when charging the laptop.

If it is due to power fluctuation, can I use 'voltage stabilizer' or UPS?

Please give me suggestion to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Jay

Voltage stabilizer is always good if you have consistently dirty power. Does it cause burning pin? I don't see how unless the connection is not so good pin to pin. Spikes may cause this.
