I cannot use a 'define' function on my iPad

Hello everyone,

I just bought iPad mini 4. When I try to hold on some texts to get a definition, it says that "no definition found". So I click 'manage' and hope to find dictionary available for download but nothing appears. How can I fix this problem? Please help. Thank you so much.

iPad Mini, iOS 9.3.3

Hello Chawin1991!

I'd definitely want the dictionary option working since it can be very useful when reading over things.

If you haven't go ahead and force close either all apps on the iPad or just the ones you've noticed it not giving definitions for you: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Then restart the iPad: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

After those steps, if you're seeing the same, check to make sure all updates for the iPad are installed: Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Reply back with any screenshots or the names of the apps that aren't allowing the dictionary lookup. Depending on the app, it may not be available.

Cheers!

I've already followed all of your steps but it still doesn't work at all. I contacted the Apple Support via chat and they also suggested the same as you. I already updated iOS to be 9.3.4 latest version and restarted and slo reset my device, nothing is improved. My problem is as the same as one who posted this problem in this link http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/248018/empty-list-of-dictionaries-ios-9 -3-2-9-3-3-ipad-mini?noredirect=1&lq=1

please help, this function is important to me. Thanks a lot

Here are the screenshots and a further explaination of the problem.

After tapping the word, then define, you should get the definition or by tapping manage you be should able to add a dictionary. (Screenshot 1)

Here is the problem. Unless you already have the dictionary installed, like mine, manage no longer gives you the oppertunity to download new dictionaries. To download a new dictionary there must be a iCloud icon and a down arrow after the available dictionaries. There is no list of available dictionaries and no iCloud with down arrow. (Screenshot 2)

I have brought this issue up in the Lounge without a satisfactory solution.
