Apple Watch not waking on wrist raise

Wrist raise wake screen was working then I charged it one night and when I woke up it wasn't working. Only had the watch since April. the screen won't shut off when lowered, until it times out, and won't come on when raised until screen tapped. Have toggled setting under Settings > General > Wake Screen several times, tried restarting it a couple of times, and even done a complete reset of the watch, no luck.

Hi

The following steps may help:

Check that Wrist Detection is turned on:

  • On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - check that this is turned on.

Check also that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly. If worn too loosely, your watch may believe that it has been removed from your wrist.

Sensor performance can also be affected by temporary or permanent changes to your skin, such as by some wrist tattoos.

Otherwise, given the steps that you have already tried, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:
