Q: el,capita,-,cant,see,my,photos,in,Photo
I have just upgraded my iMac to El Capitan - all worked fine except my iPhotos. I cannot see them in Photo. I was about 2 OSX versions behind, but it said the upgrade should be fine. I was using iPhoto 9.4.3 according to my iPhoto Library manager and I have a number of iPhoto libraries in my pictures folder. I was not using iCloud to store them.
When I launched Photo it asked me which library I wanted to use and I pointed to my latest one. When I open Photos application in El Capitan I find there are no photos. Can I import the iPhoto library? When I go to import library and find my photos - iPhoto folder is greyed out, but there are a lot of photos and events there to import - but not the iPhoto libraries.
Any advice please

Hello Peter Dromgoole1,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand from your post that after upgraded your iMac to El Capitan, your photos from iPhoto did not import to the Photos app. I know how important your photos are to you. The following article has information about migrating multiple iPhoto Libraries to Photos:
Updating from iPhoto to Photos for OS X
To migrate another photo library manually:
- Quit Photos.
- Hold down the Option key and open Photos.
- Select the library you want to open and then click Choose Library. If the library you want isn’t listed, click Other Library. Navigate to the library you want, and click Open.
You can also drag the library you’d like to open to the Photos icon in the Dock. Or you can click Create New to create an all-new, empty library.
Best Regards
