Where should I recycle my old iPad?

I am ready to recycle my iPad 3rd gen. 32GB Black Wi-Fi only, and I am trying to do it at home, it is barely cracked. At what sites am I able to recycle my iPad, or trade in my iPad? It is taped so the screen won't pop out and it was being fix by 3rd party. If it pop out, it would more likely touch randomly, and if I taped it, it still have wacky touch. Do I need to bring my charging cables and adapters to recycle my iPad, will it sell to someone or will it go to Liam?

So I am curious about recycling at home or throwing to trash what would happen.

There is a lot of recycleable material in any electronic device, including toxic materials such as the metallic lithium in the battery. Nobody should want that in their trash landfills. And many of the rare earth metals used in solid state electronics are very expensive materials at the best of time. Recycling helps keep costs of new consumer electronics down.
