Of you do not, quit FCP and when you launch the app, hold down the option and command keys. When prompted delete preferences.

Aug 6, 2016 4:32 PM in response to Russ Hby Fishbones78,Hi
Thanks for the reply - holding cmd and option seem to do nothing when launching. However, I have noticed that after clicking "Share", my CPU usage climbs considerably. This makes me think it is exporting the video but it isn't showing the progress bar for it. Maybe the window is actually there but I'm not bringing it up? I'm very new to Mac and so I'm used to using Sony Vegas Pro.
Thank you

Aug 6, 2016 4:47 PM in response to Fishbones78by Russ H,Use the Range tool to make a short selection of your timeline. Share > Master File. Format = Computer. In the Save dialog, choose a location like Desktop where it will be easily found. Does it work?

Aug 6, 2016 5:11 PM in response to Russ Hby Fishbones78,Hi again,
No different unfortunately, FCP eats CPU and a couple of files are generated - showing it is probably rendering fine. Its just that I get no dialogue of estimated time to to finish or current export progress.
Thank you so far.

Aug 6, 2016 5:12 PM in response to Tom Wolskyby Fishbones78,Hi.
Thanks for the reply - FCP uses high CPU. I believe it is rendering absolutely fine. My problem now is that it gives no dialogue to show export progression or estimated time remaining.
Thank you

Aug 6, 2016 5:16 PM in response to Fishbones78by Fishbones78,Well - I've found a work around for now by going to window > background tasks.
That shows the percentage progress of the "sharing" operation (which I would assume is my render progression).
Thank you both for your input.
