Q: Garageband won't recognize Apogee 96k mic

Garageband 2.1.1

iPad ios 9.3.3

Apogee 96k mic

I've used this in the past with no issues. Not sure if it was an update or what, but I haven't used it for a few months, and now I had the urge again to throw down some scratch song ideas, but I can't get the mic light to stay green. It flashes a quick green, then turns blue (and stays blue after I plug it in). Adjusting the gain doesn't help. Garage band is only responding to the internal ipad mic.

Is there a setting in the iPad that may have changed?

In case anyone is curious, I contacted Apogee, who helped me troubleshoot via their chat support. As it turns out, if you go into General => About, the Mic 96k (or any other external device being used) should be listed there. It was not, and it also didn't show up on on other ios devices I had with the mic's lightning cable. It DID show up on my Mac with the cable they provided for that. So Apogee determined my cable was bad and is sending me a new one - no charge - even though my warranty ran out long ago!
