Q: iPod Nano 7th Generation Backlight

Can the backlight for an Apple iPod Nano 7th Generation be set to turn off? I just purchased one and can't figure it out. For my iPod Classic I set the backlight to turn off after several seconds. That is what I want to do with the iPod Nano 7th Generation.

    Hi WKE066,

I understand that you want to turn off the backlight on your iPod Nano. I know it's important to be able to manage your devices to your liking, so I'm happy to provide some direction to help with this.

To access your iPod nano backlight settings:

    1. Click on the menu button (top of Click Wheel) until you reach your home screen
    2. Then, scroll all the way down and click on Settings
    3. Scroll to and select the "General" options
    4. Select Backlight to access all available choices

Here, you'll find the options that you are familiar with.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, cheers!

The directions seem to be for the older iPod Nano, not the 7th generation. The directions would wok for the one I purchased many years ago.

It looks like the iPod Nano 7th Generation backlight can be dimmed unless a selection has completed playing. Is that correct?
