icloud locked, lost receipt and box

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this had been asked before. but My dad's iphone just got (icloud) locked.

I called Apple customer to ask about unlocking it, they mentioned that they would need the receipt and/or the box. But my dad threw it all away. The CS said that I could get a re-print of the receipt from the apple store and from there they could help me out.

However when I went there, the staff said that after 3 years, they probably won't keep any of the past transactions of iphones. I was shocked since the CS on the telephone did not mention this kind of information to me (I already told the CS that it was purchased 3 years ago).

After much pestering, the store staff relented and he told me that he will check it out from the main office.

I have to ask, if they could find the receipt, does that mean my dad's iphone is good as nothing?

>> Could they check my dad's proof of ownership through his apple ID and his own ID card? Since the apple ID is already his name.
