How do I shuffle Slideshow Photos?

I have created an album in Photos for an event and I was hoping to use the Slideshow function. How do I shuffle the photos in the Slideshow? I know in the old times of iPhoto that you were able to do this. I have just spent the time putting over 600 photos in an album from many, many years and would like to shuffle them!!!!!

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Photos for Mac does not shuffle photos.

But you could use the screensaver to show your album shuffled.

Open the System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver.
Select one of the photo templates for the screensaver in the left column.
Set the source in the right column to "Photo Library"; wait until your photos Library appears, select your album.
Enable the checkmark "Shuffle Slide order".
Then start the screensaver.

Or use an Apple Script to shuffle the photos in your album every time before you start the slideshow. See this user tip:

As others have said, you can't, at least not right now... I've made a small app that will shuffle photos in Photos.app slideshows... if you'd like to help me test, it would be appreciated. Contact info on this blog post:
