iOS 9 - homekit

Recently we purchased the Phillips hue starter kit. But to my surprise, after downloading the hue app on my wife's iPhone, the Apple HomeKit app is missing off her iPhone. When we go into settings, about halfway down, the HomeKit options are there but there is no icon on the ipbone homepage. I've chatted online with the apple techs and they suggested restarting and signing in and out but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

There is no HomeKit app. It's a System service that other apps for the specific HomeKit-compatible devices access and use for communicating between themselves. It also provides the framework for these apps to be controlled with Siri.

iOS 10 will include an Apple-developed Home app.
