I need help! My son was turning on our apple tv and pushed the button one too many times, it changed our display setting from 720p to 1080p, now my tv is saying that the input is incompatible and I can't see what the display is saying for the apple tv so I don't know how to change it back to 720p so that I can see anything displayed.

You may wish to try the following:

Press and hold the menu and the volume down button simultaneously on the remote for six seconds, the Apple TV should then begin to cycle through the various resolutions available to it at 20 second intervals.. If you see a picture appear up on your screen, use the remote to scroll down to the OK option and select it.
