Under iOS 9 and later, you can view the battery charge level and charging status of connected Bluetooth devices via the Today section in Notification Centre on your iPhone.
To be able to view this information, the device(s) must be paired and currently connected to your iPhone.
To edit information that is shown in the Today view (including adding Batteries, if it is not already included): open the Today view from your Home screen (not the Lock screen) > scroll to the bottom and tap on Edit.

To clarify: this reply instead refers to viewing the battery charge levels of Bluetooth devices that are connected to a computer.
