Q: No sound from my 7th Gen Nano

Have had my 7th Gen for a couple years. Have used it only a few times at home, not in the dust. It was in a dust case all this time. It sat unused, battery run out for about 2 years. Today I first, charged the battery. Then turned it on, went to music to listen and no sound.

Everything else works. All the function, settings, podcasts, clock, I had to reset but now works. Just no sound from headphone jack, I assume.

I have reset, several times, restored via iTunes on my PC. Both devices are running current software. Volume adjustment works on the screen, volume limit is not set, I purchased several songs today, others were purchased when I first got the device. Last time I used it, sound worked. Tried 3 different ear pods, no sound from Nano, but sound from iPhone.

I have followed all troubleshooting topics in the User Guide. I am hoping someone here is smarter than the guide or knows some trick.

Thanks!

    Hello Mswilma,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding there's no sound when using headphones with your iPod nano. I definitely want to make sure you're able to enjoy your music without issue. You've done a great job trying to get this resolved so far. At this point the iPod will need to be serviced. Thank you for your response.

Very disappointing however. Not sure I will have it serviced since it has only about 1.5 hours of use, if that, the same problem could happen again. $75 is nearly 1/2 the cost of a new iPod and I can get another brand for that amount.
