Can A Stolen MacBook Pro be tracked Down?

This Was new in 2011 If it can be tracked what are the step by step instructions?

BEFORE anything bad happens, you enable Find My Mac and link to your iCloud account. Then if something bad happens, you connect to your iCloud account and ACTIVATE find my Mac and tell it to do any of:

a) make your Mac beep so that you can figure out where it is in your house.

b) notify you and provide the location.

c) lock your Mac with an additional passcode so that it cannot be used util that same passcode is entered.

d) wipe out all the information on your Mac.


If you did not already enable find my Mac, you report the description and the serial number to the local police. Good luck with that.
