Q: My App Store will not let me download

For about a month now that I know of my App Store won't let me download any apps.. Instead of loading a message comes up saying it can not be downloaded and gives me two options; done or retry. I've tried restarting my phone and logging in and out of my account but nothing is changing?

    Hello Daedre,

Thanks for your post. It sounds like you’re not able to download apps and you get the error to retry or not download it. I know how important it is to be able to download apps. I’ll be more than happy to help.

I’ve had this issue when updating apps before and I’ve gone to Settings > General > Storage and iCloud Usage and tap on Manage under the phone storage. I find the app with issues and delete it. Then the App Store will let me re-download it.

If the issue is with a new app that you don’t already have downloaded, I would try different networks to see if it is a network issue.

If that doesn’t help, back up your iPhone following these instructions: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support Once it’s backed up, reset all settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset your wallpaper and network settings, along with a few other settings like your passcode lock and Touch ID. It will not reset any of your downloaded apps, messages or photos.

After you reset the settings, try downloading the app again. If you're still unable to get the apps downloaded, try downloading them to iTunes on your Mac or PC using the steps below and then sync them to your iPhone. Here is a link to a support article that will help you with syncing the apps once you have them downloaded: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes your computer using USB

    1. Open iTunes.

    2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.

    3. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > Purchased. If you're a member of a Family Sharing group, you might see Family Purchases instead of Purchased.

If you’re using Windows and can’t see the menu bar, learn how to turn it on.

    4. In the upper-right corner of the iTunes window, click Apps.

    5. Click "Not in My Library" to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.

    6. Find the item that you want to download, then click the Download icon  in the upper-right corner. Your app downloads to your library.

    Download your past purchases

    Take care.
