Q: spotlight search results missing from share
Hi there. We have a Mac Mini with 10.10.5 and OS X Server 5.0.15
We have discovered at although everything seems fine, we have one problem, and it's getting increasingly annoying.
We have 16 users using MacBook Pro and MacBook Air computers running Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan - nothing older than Mavericks.
Each user have his/her own account with individual usernames and passwords including my admin account.
All can connect via afp:// and read and write ... but when we try to make a search for a file on the server, I (admin) am the only one getting search results. For the rest of the users a search does not generate any search results.
I have tried to google this and I cannot find an answer ...
Using Terminal I am told search is enabled:
Peters-MBP:~ peter$ mdutil /Volumes/Fælles -s
/Volumes/Fælles:
Server search enabled.
And this is independent of whetherI access the server with my admin account or with my regular (or any of the other 15 regular) user account.
I think I have tried almost everything, and I believe it must something with the accounts, I just can't seem to solve this enigma. Why can admin search and find files on the servers shared volumes, and all the other users can't?
All help and hints and suggestions are welcome.
Peter
