I too got an email apparently from Apple relating to a purchase from Itunes...didn't follow any link and have reported to Apple...but: is this a fake or legitimate? Checked with my bank and no money was taken from my account. What's worrying me is that my apple ID is correct!

Help, please?

Thanks in advance

Jan

It's not from iTunes, it's a phishing attempt trying to get your account and payment details

As long as you didn't click on any of the phishing links you should be ok - the email is likely to have been sent to a lot of email addresses, some of which might not be used or not be linked to an iTunes account.

Did you only click on the links, you didn't then enter your id and password (and payment details) ? If all you did was click on the link then you should be ok, they phishers won't have your password - but they may now know that the email address is active (and possibly is an iTunes account), so you may get further emails (possibly not just purporting to be from iTunes), if in doubt type in a store/site's address, don't use links in emails.
