Mobile Phone Connetions?

I have an IMAC.

I've used Bluetooth to brows and copy(pull) files(photos and videos) on my LG430 'flip' phone for several years with no difficulties. Now I have iphone, ipad-pro, and a new LG21 smart-phone none of which will connect via bluetooth to my IMAC... Where is this technology going? I feel like I'm being sqeezed into using CLOUD. Not Nice! I don't trust things that I can't see or feel. Does anyone share the same issue?

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. See the following for more information. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722

The following have more information about AirDrop:

I can't help with the LG21 as I'm not familiar with it.
