No, the only way to save texts is to:
A.) Never delete them
B.) Copy them and save them to notes

Texts don't save to iCloud however if you have multiple devices, and enable the Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch option then I believe it does use iCloud to push these messages to other devices.
