Q: Replacing Airport Extreme due to intermittent signal drops: should I rename my network?
I am replacing my 4th Generation AE for a 6th Generation AE. Lately, I have been having connectivity issues, where my connection is almost non-existent randomly but the 4th Gen AE still shows a solid green light. I have been relying on Speedtest to find out when I do/don't have issues. I am not sure what has happened but I have applied every suggestion and I decided to buy a new AE.
So, I am going to replace the 4th Gen. Should I rename my network to a new name or should I keep the same name? I have many devices talking to my existing one (TVs, IP cameras, printers, etc). What I am trying to avoid is having the same problem over again.
Also, how should I set it up in order to optimize performance and strength of connection? I have Comcast and I have read that they offer IPV6
Thanks

regardless of name change you will still have to reconnect the devices so it shouldn't matter.
