Apple store tells me I have to update my iphone 4 to ios 8 or more if I want to download something, but from what I´ve heard iphone 4 can´t be updated to ios 8 ?? is there any solution or does this mean I have to by a new phone to dowload something?

iPhone 4 is not compatible with iOS 8.
Correct, the iPhone 4 can only run 7.1.2, you will have to have an iPhone 4s to install any newer firmware above that.
You need to have an iPhone 4S or newer to download the current version of that application; you might be able to download it to a computer and then use these instructions to get an older one.
