Q: To access a medical database, a software printout says I now need TLS 1.1. The printout from the program says that if I get the proper OX Lion 10.7.5 I should get the Safari 7.0 or higher with it. I can't find the Safari download procedure.
Friends:
I have a MacBook Pro - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i 5. Mem 4 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3. My MAC OS X LIon is version 10.7.5. MY Safari present version is 6.1.6.
I was trying to log on to a medical/pharmacy program/database, and was told that I do not have a sufficiently high version of TLS. I have 1.0 and 1.1 is needed. The MAC OX Lion 10.7.5 should have a Safari 7 version which has the TLS level 1.1 elements in it -- or can be updated to the TLS 1.1 level. I have looked at my app updates and do not find the Safari update to 7. Any idea where in the Apple support or retail system I can get the update? Thanks.

Safari 7 is a very outdated version of Safari.
The only way to update Safari is to upgrade your Mac to the newest OS X El Capitan. The would install the latest Safari version available 9.1.2.
So see if your Mac can run El Capitan > Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support
An alternative might be to use the Firefox browser which still supports v10.7 > https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
