Q: Changing the network address for a Time Machine disk

Hi Folks,

This is my second question in 12 hours. Thanks to help I received here I have abandoned my doomed attempt to use my old AirPort Extreme and a USB Drive for Time Machine backups.

I previously used my ReadyNAS for Time Machine backups but it was never reliable. I think I have tracked down the issue and would like to try it again. However, Time Machine remembers the old network address for the ReadyNAS unit (smb://NAS_TimeMachine.local/ReadyNAS) and will not "see" the same unit at the present address (afp://admin@192.168.178.55/NASTimeMachine). You may have gathered that networking is not something I understand.

I think this might also be responsible for the annoying "There was a problem ..." messages I get at boot up telling me the drive couldn't be mounted.

Is there a way to force Time Machine to forget the old address and "see" the new one?
