I'm not sure if a Netgear extender......(at least that is what I think an N300 device might be)......is compatible with an Apple router.
The reason for this is that Apple engineers have done their very best to try to use proprietary settings to force users to use another Apple device when they want to extend an Apple network wirelessly.
Things would only take a few minutes if you can swap out the N300 for an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme.
If you want to try to set up the N300, there is no WPS "button" on an Apple router. But, you can simulate the action of a button on your current Apple router if you......
Open AirPort Utility........(Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)
Click on the picture of the AirPort router
Click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Base Station menu......up at the uppermost top of the Mac's screen where you see other menus like File, Window, Help, etc
Click Add WPS Printer

There are two WPS connection methods.......First Attempt and PIN. If your printer requires that you hold a WPS button on the router, then use First Attempt. If your printer provides a PIN, then use the PIN Method.

I have tested several Netgear devices to see if they would be compatible with an Apple router to extend the network wirelessly, and have had not had success with any them. But, I have not tried an N300.
Please post back on your results if you decide to try the Netgear extender.
