iphone not popping up when i connect it to itunes

My iphone 6 is disabled and need's to be connected to itunes, so when i launch itunes the device does not pop up at ALL. i only hear the sound when i first connect it. i am running the newest version of itunes and seem to not be able to find where i can connect and restore it.
