Q: My Music Won't Import

So I was trying to import music from my computer to my iPod, and I selected the music, and clicked 'add to device' and selected my iPod, but when I looked at my library, both on my computer and iPod, the music wasn't there. Does anyone know how to successfully transfer the music?

iPod touch, iOS 9.3.3
