Q: share music library on apple tv

Is it possible to play my music at my son's house on his tv?

Can I sign in to iCloud and/or iTunes Store on his rig -

to access my music and play it over there?

Thanks, Tom

Yes, you should be able to sign in and access your iTunes store purchases or your iCloud music library if you use iTunes Match or Apple Music.

I have both iTunes Match and  Music and need my playlists in iCloud

when I'm over there at his rig - do I need to sign in to both the iTunes

Store as well as iCloud to get them?

The iCloud sign in is used for linking to Photos. It should be a question of signing into the store. I tried it the other night with a test account (set up some time back) and I was greeted with that account's free copy of U2's Songs of Innocence. I was then able to sign back into my regular account to see my own purchases again. None of the apps on the Apple TV were affected.

I now realize I'll need to control which speakers to use over there so

I need to use iTunes, not tv. Will I be able to sign in to iTunes with

my ID on his Mac and bring up my songlists, etc.? Thanks, Tom

p.s. Should this question be posted over in iTunes instead?

Signing into a different computer with your Apple ID to download or stream content may cause that computer to become associated with your Apple ID, and which could block the computer from automatic downloads with its original ID for 90 days. See View and remove associated devices in iTunes for details.

You might be better off making a clone of your library on a portable external drive which you can connect to by option-starting-iTunes on the Mac. Unless you're using Apple Music with DRM you won't need to authorize the computer to your own Apple ID but can access all of your music stored on the drive. When you're done close iTunes and option-start-iTunes to switch back to the original library. In most cases you can simply copy the iTunes folder out to the external drive but see Make a split library portable for advice on how to make a portable library if yours is in a non-standard layout.
