why isn't music from my previous ipad still in my music library in iTunes?

Music does not move from an iPad into iTunes. If you had music on the iPad that was not in iTunes, and the music was not purchased in iTunes, it is gone (unless you also had it somewhere on your computer outside of iTunes).
