Aug 15, 2016 1:44 PM in response to mml138by Cartman1745,This battery issue is driving me up the wall. After the IOS 9.3.4 upgrade my battery usage has deteriorated about 60%. Did all these listed fixes, re-install, reset networks, etc, check all apps, use low power, it still chews up battery and this phone is only 4 months old (6S Plus). The update is so bad on the battery that a brand new phone is now behaving like a two year old phone.

Aug 17, 2016 7:20 PM in response to mml138by marlon_jackson,Try this little bit of Voodoo that's worked twice now for me (9.3.1 > 9.3.3 and 9.3.3 > 9.3.4).
Try shutting down your device and any Mac you've used for setup or iTunes sync for your device.
Then power up your device with the Macs still shutdown, and see if your battery issue is remedied.

Aug 18, 2016 1:38 PM in response to mml138by Ed251,Hi
I have the same problem on both my iPad and iPhone 5c. The battery just depletes, even with no activity.
Does Apple do testing on release? This is not the first problem I have had. The only reason I upgrade is to avoid the annoying daily message about an upgrate being available.
Guess we just have to wait for the next one and hope it fixes this, without casuing any new ones.

Aug 19, 2016 8:07 AM in response to mml138by skyecougar,I have great news. I chatted to Apple consultant last night and she did various diagnostics tests on my phone. She spent 64 minutes 29 seconds and concluded that my phone will need to be serviced. I booked a Genius Bar appointment for today at 11am was in there for over an hour while they ran more tests. I did my homework, I typed out a list of what I have already tried and the results.
This is what my work authorisation states -
Issue: Battery Life decreasing very rapidly (linearly and also when not in use).
Steps to Reproduce: Verified. Device has been Set Up as New; issue still occurring. Device is currently in Store (and has been Restored from Backup); issue is still occurring (and the environment is different than at home where issue is occurring).
Ran Diagnostics (MRI a and Battery Usage); Battery fine. Battery Usage Graph showing a very linear decrease in battery. Issue is still occurring in Store.
Cosmetic Condition: Display fine; no cracks. Enclosure fine; no dents.
Proposed Resolution: Replace Device In Warranty as issue is not Software nor User Data related.
Picked up my new replacement phone in the afternoon at 1pm! I am a happy little vegemite! Just be mindful before you go in there to back up your phone. I installed iOS 9.3.4 and set up my phone in store..... All worked. My new phone and battery is now what it should have been. Now I have a brand spanking new phone and beauty of it is the warranty starts afresh! Thank you Apple, You have restored my faith.

Aug 19, 2016 9:03 AM in response to mml138by thebigadski,I think this is a bigger issue than Apple realises!
Ive read numerous other threads with similar issues, and my mate just told me today he's been having exactly the same problem as me for the last few weeks:
- Mid range battery level (<50%) suddenly dropping below 5-8%
- Battery dies
- Plug charger back in and suddenly with a mid range battery level again???
Happens intermittently and over the last 2 weeks about 7 times.
Running iOS 9.3.4

Aug 20, 2016 12:38 AM in response to mml138by LarryWcw,I am using iphone 6. After upgraded to ios 9.3.4, it drains my battery very quickly. At the beginning, i guess it's my battery life over. So i spent money to change a new battery. However, the same problem exists with a new battery. I used 4 hrs to charge up from 0 to 40%...... very annoying and disappointing!

Aug 20, 2016 10:20 AM in response to LarryWcwby marlon_jackson,Larry - Try powering down all devices connected to iCloud, including all iPads, other iPhones, but particularly any computer you use to sync your phone. And also power down your phone.
Then power up your phone so it's the only device powered on.
If you have the same problem I did, your charging problem will be gone and you can power up your devices again.

Aug 21, 2016 12:01 AM in response to marlon_jacksonby homartens,I tried all suggestions given in here, but none worked for me.
This included
- resetting network settings
- powering off all devices using iCloud
- logout / re-login to iCloud
- soft resets
- downgrading to 9.3.2, keeping all contents
- upgrading from 9.3.2 --> 9.3.4 again
- restoring from backup
- turn flight mode on
Nothing helped.
As a last thing I yesterday evening scratched my iPhone 6s and reset to factory settings. Even this "blank" iPhone discharged down to 4% within about 13 hours. iOS 9.3.4 with only default apps installed. No apps running. No Siri configured.
I will continue to work with Apple on Monday but I assume the iPhone needs to be replaced.
