Q: messed up 5th g bad

couldn't get win 7 to recognize it so I formatted it. Now Itunes can't restore it.  Can this be saved? I tried like heck to get Itunes to restore.. win7 keeps saying to format it but it won't take. Very odd. Win 7 shows it now as a removable disk. Itunes sees it and say's it needs restoring but it can't do it.

iPod nano, Windows 7, null

    Hi Truckingguy,

Based on your post, it looks like you're unable to restore your iPod nano using iTunes for Windows. Do you receive an error code or error message when you attempt the restore on your Windows PC? If you do see an error, take a look at this website for some additional steps to try:

If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

If the problem persists after trying the above steps, I'd recommend trying the restore on another computer as a next step. It is also a good idea to try using a different 30-pin to USB cable if possible.

If you're still unable to restore on another PC or Mac with a known-good 30-pin to USB cable, this would indicate that the iPod needs service. You can use the following website to locate an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider near you:

Find Service Locations - Apple Support

If you'd like to speak with an Advisor about your various service options, you can reach out to Apple Support here:

    Cheers!
