Image Quality by MacBook Air vs. Pro

LCD different between Pro and Air. Not sure which panel is better, though.

There is a display difference. The MacBook Pro's use In Plane Switching (IPS) LCD displays. The MacBook Air's display type is unlisted, but believed to be Twisted Nematic (TN) LCD. Generally IPS displays provided better color and wider viewing angles while TN support faster response times.

How to know which makers panel is used:

open Terminal.app, then type:

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | perl -E '$str = do { local $/; <>; }; say for $str =~/([x20-x6f]{6,})/g'

If printed string is start with "LP" it's a infamous LG made LCD panel.

If "LSN", it's a Samsung made one,

If "AU", it's a Optronics made one.
