Q: How do I sync music without wifi?

If anyone can tell me how to get/sync music from iTunes to my iPhone 5 using a USB cable and NOT wifi or Apple Music I be delighted to hear about it. It should, and used to be, a simple process. Now it appears all but impossible. I don't want anymore cloud nonsense, I simply want to be able to sync up tracks which are on my Mac to my iPhone over a cable...HOW HARD CAN THAT BE?

All offers of help greatly appreciated.

Apple, I absolutely hate the mess you've made of music! I've been using your kit since day one, but i'm now heartily sick of being "offered" "services" I don't want. I'm a customer, respond to my needs! (Yes, I know they don't answer these posts).

    Hi Mark,

I understand that you're having some difficulty syncing your music to your iPhone using a USB cable after setting up Apple Music. I know that it's important to have control over your media, so I'm happy to provide some direction to help with this.

Check out this article which outlines exactly how to sync your content to your iPhone using a USB cable:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

If you continue to have issues after going through each step in that article, please let me know where you are running into problems and any errors that you may receive. The more information we have about your issue, the easier we can help identify the problem.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, cheers!

Thanks for your reply, which was helpful. However, the issue lay with iCloud Music Library, yet another nonsense which assumes that we all have limitless access to bandwidth (or, if I was more cynical, another way to get money out of customers). Having now switched that off I can see the menu options I want.

Anyway, thank you for your swift response.
