Aug 9, 2016 2:32 PM in response to rith.manaby rith.mana,Is there a way to determine hotness? I asked this question based on physical experience. It becomes hot particularly at the bottom, places near charging port with maximum hotness which decreases towards the other end. around the keypad and trackpad i am feeling moderate hotness. but everything will go away once i stop charging.

How hot is too hot is hard to determine over the internet. If concerned, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Aug 9, 2016 4:29 PM in response to rith.manaby OGELTHORPE,None of the connections or the body of the MBP should get really 'hot' when charging. The pins in the charger connection are spring loaded and should move freely. check for any discoloration in the MBP connection. You might run an Apple Hardware Test which might offer a clue.

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.
You might also reset the SMC:
