Photo book too dark. I choose black background, did that cause it? When I look at the book on my Mac it's beautiful colors & not too dark. Help! What should I do?

Is this made with iPhoto or Photos.app?
what is the color profile of the photos? It should be sRGB for best results - and less processing is better in most cases
