Hope someone can help! I uploaded a number of RAW images from my Canon EOS 80D onto my Macbook (OS X Yosemite 10.10.5) into Photos. I can only see images in Thumbnails, I can't edit or open. I thought Photos had RAW editing ability? What do I do? I hope I haven't lost all of this data in unusable form.
it does but you have to get up to date - you are about 6 updates behind - you need El Captain OS X 10.11.6, Photos 1.5 and Digital RAW commpatibility 6.20 - Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support
That camera is not supported on the version of software you have

Thanks so much for responding quickly. I updated to the El Capitan version you suggested, but I still can't do anything but view thumbnails. When I open the image, I continue to get the triangled exclamation point. Possibly I had to have the update before I brought the images in? I was hoping these photos weren't "lost" forever.
select the problem images and under the image menu use the reprocess RAW command
