Q: El Capitan freezing forces hard reboot Mail wrong

I recently upgraded to El Capitan due tot he fact that the new QB2016 wouldn't work on Mavericks. I have had nothing but problems since doing so. Indesign and Illustrator CS^ keep crashing, My computer freezes with the beach ball of death and I have to do a hard restart, my new message window in apple mail goes off the screen and I have tried every trick that I know from the internet to get it to resize, nothing doing. I don't want ot reformat and install Mavericks due to my investment into QB and don't know if Yosemite is as buggy as El Cap. I wish someone had some suggestions that I haven't seen while prowling this community discussion

I ran an etrecheck and this is the report. It says everythign is fine. It IS NOT.

As always you should preform a TimeMachine backup if you are going to edit/update your computer:

    1. For the Adobe applications can you check if there is an update for them? Sometimes older versions of apps are not supported on newer machines, but you can simply download the updates from Adobe.
    2. For the messages going off of the screen I'm a little confused what you mean, but I think it might have to do something with your display resolution or arrangement. Can you upload a screen shot (press Shift Command 3 and it will appear on your desktop)?
      1. First lets check your display resolution to make sure it is correct for your iMac – Go to Apple Icon (top left) --> System Preferences --> Displays --> Resolution --> make sure the circle next to "Default for display" is filled in.
      2. Second lets check your display arrangement (if necessary this is used if you have more than one display or if you are using your Mac with a projector). If you have a second display currently attached to your Mac or you are connected to a projector then you can – Go to Apple Icon (top left) --> System Preferences --> Displays --> Arrangement --> and check "Mirror Display." If you don't have a second display or you aren't connect to a projector you can skip this step.
    3. If your computer is still crashing lets make sure everything is update to date.
      1. Go to the App Store – Finder --> and press Shift Command A all at once to get to the application folder --> open the App Store --> go to the Updates tab --> if necessary click "Update All" after it finishes checking for new updates.
      2. If you are using FireFox you want to make sure you are also using the latest version – Finder --> and press Shift Command A all at once to get to the application folder --> open FireFox --> in the top bar click on "FireFox" --> "About FireFox" --> and then update and relaunch FireFox.
      3. If you are using Chrome you want to make sure you are also using the latest version – Finder --> and press Shift Command A all at once to get to the application folder --> open Chrome --> in the top bar click on "Chrome" --> "About Chrome" --> and then update and relaunch Chrome.
      4. Make sure that Adobe Flash Player is up to date if it is installed on your Mac – Go to Apple Icon (top left) --> System Preferences --> Flash Player --> Updates --> Check for updates and install if necessary.
      5. Also make sure Java is up to date if it is installed on your Mac – Go to Apple Icon (top left) --> System Preferences --> Java (takes a minute to open) --> Update --> Check for updates and install if necessary.
    4. If all of this fails you can always re-download El Capitan from the Mac App Store and reinstall it. You shouldn't lose any data, but always make a time machine backup before you do this. Go to the App Store – Finder --> and press Shift Command A all at once to get to the application folder --> open the App Store --> go to the Purchases tab (make sure you are signed into the Apple ID you first downloaded El Capitan with) --> and re-download and install El Capitan.
      1. To sign into the App Store with your Apple ID – while in the Mac App Store click on Store (in the top bar) --> Sign in.
