I run a small studio over 3 locations (2xUK and 1 x US) they are all mac users, working for a global company which is all PC. We've recently switched across to using one NAS server (Synology DS215+) for all locations. We envisaged that the US studio connection would be slower due to distance. The designer in the US is having issues with Indesign when connected to the NAS server, it runs very slowly. It doesn't matter if designer is working from desktop or server - the only way to improve speed is to disconnect from server. I'm looking at ways we can improve the application speed so designer can remain connected at all times or improve the set up we have (eg. 2 x NAS units syncing) - any suggestions would be welcome?
