Q: Apple Music Problems

Hi.  I was paying £9.99 a month and then my husband joined and I went on his phone and joined with the family plan of £14.99 a month but I keep getting debited both 9.99 and 14.99.  I received a credit note  on 29 July for 9.99 and the same amount has been taken again!  I obviously want to cancel my fees and just use the family one - as I joined on my husbands phone, do I do this again.  I am now trying to download music to my iPod using apple music and it's now allowing me to download anything without paying in the iTunes store????

    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. 


    I understand from your post that you have an individual Apple Music membership on your iPhone and a Family Membership for Apple Music on your husband's iPhone. I know how important it is for you to only have your Family Membership for Apple Music so you are not being charged 2 times. First, you will need to cancel your Individual Membership which is attached to your Apple ID. 

    To do this follow the steps in this article:

    View, change, or cancel your subscriptions

    Once you have canceled your Individual Membership and it has run out, you can then invite yourself to the Family Membership from your husband's iPhone. Use the steps in this article to join an existing Family Membership: 

    Manage your Apple Music membership on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC

    Join an existing Family Membership

    If you have an Apple Music Individual Membership and want to join an existing Family Membership, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off Automatic Renewal for your Individual Membership.
    2. Ask the organizer of the Family Membership that you want to join to invite you to join the group. 
    3. Accept the invitation to join a family group.
    4. After you accept the invitation, open the Apple Music app and check to make sure that you're a part of the group.
