Aug 10, 2016 7:18 AM in response to likestarlingsby Bob Timmons,If you are trying to update with a wireless connection between the Mac and the Time Capsule, this has created a number of update issues.
Are you trying to use a wireless connection between the Mac and the Time Capsule for the update?
If yes, you might want to consider using a wired connection for any operating system updates or firmware updates. Be sure to turn off the WiFi on your Mac if you decide to try this method.
Would also be a good idea to perform a complete power cycle on your network before you attempt any updates. If you decide to try that.....
Power off every device on the entire network.....modem, computers, routers, accessories, etc.....in any order that you want
Wait a minute
Power up the modem first and let it run for 2-3 minutes by itself
Power up the next device connected to the modem and let it run a full minute
Keep powering up devices one at a time about a minute apart until the network is back up
Try the update again

Aug 10, 2016 7:22 AM in response to Bob Timmonsby likestarlings,Thanx for the lightspeed reply, Bob!
I was using a wireless connection with my MacBook Pro (Retina 15-in).
I'll try the power cycle as you suggest / and then try again.
Hope this finds you well.
All the best chariots,
Jeff.

Aug 10, 2016 8:59 AM in response to likestarlingsby Bob Timmons,Please connect your Mac using a wired connection. If your Mac does not have an Ethernet port, a great investment would be a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter. It will pay for itself many times over in terms of reliability for updates or any important transfer of data.
