Q: How to get rid of the Specialities associated with ones profile?

Just because I have either created, commented or other on a particular thread/topic, just not make me a specialist, rather it means that I have an interest. Get the distinction - Apple? I assume there is no way to get rid of the annoying little icons?

You get two Helpfuls and one Solved for each thread you create

A quick visual inspection of the thread shows only one Helpful marked, but I did say "quick"

Also note that awarding these are irrevocable by you or by our gracious Hosts(not sure this is absolutely true, but is good policy, as changing awards for every occurrance of a mistake would take a LOT of Host man-hours)

The solved also shows a helpful. In the current implementation it is no longer possible to tell who marked it so, but I'm guessing it was mariotheplumber or they would have one more solved at their disposal.

Grr, the second helpful was me stupidly trying to see if the number in the helpful box had reverted to its older function of listing who had marked the post as helpful.

still on my first cuppa coffee... of course it was converted from a Helpie to a Solvie

That Helpful (n) did show who marked it - NOW it is BAIT & SWITCH

Yes thanks, Works fine, but not the solution I was after. Like you said.. "that's that".

I always try and mark as helpful or solved.

    So when you said...

Installed the script in browser and still see the little badges and points.

was what mislead me into thinking it had somehow failed.

All of us participating here are in full agreement with you, it seems.

I have an opinion as to why Badges were added onto the already tried-and-true Level/Points system, but we are not allowed to speculate - and we have no way of proving up a hypothesis
