Aug 10, 2016 11:20 AM in response to carlsw39by Bob Timmons,★HelpfulWhen I go to the AirPort Utility it says "No configured AirPort base stations have been found.
Is this a new Time Capsule (TC) that has not been setup before? If yes, a new TC will not appear in AirPort Utility. Click the WiFi icon at the top of the Macs screen and look for a listing of New AirPort Base Station. Just under that heading, click directly on Time Capsule and that will get the setup "wizard" up and running to guide you through the installation.
If your TC is not new, but has been performing another function....or....you have a new modem, or have made other changes on the network.....then you will need to perform a Hard Reset on the TC to get it back to default settings so that it can be reconfigured to work in its new network location.
Once you have performed the Hard Reset, follow the steps in the first paragraph above to get the setup "wizard" up and running.

Aug 10, 2016 11:25 AM in response to Bob Timmonsby carlsw39,Thanks for the suggestion. The time capsule isn't new hardware. I moved and got new internet from a different provider.
As of right now, I think I was able to fix the problem. Originally I hooked the ethernet from the modem directly to the time capsule, and disconnected my old router. As it turned out, I needed to leave the connection from the modem to the router intact, and then connect from the router to the time capsule. Is there a way to cut out the middle man (old router) or is my setup the only way to make this work?

Possibly, but it would involve performing a Hard Reset on the TC and then setting it up again. This is the way that my TC is set up....it connects directly to a simple modem....which allows the TC to perform as the router for the network.
But, before you do that, it might be a good idea to verify what type of modem that you have. What is the make and model number of your modem?

Aug 10, 2016 11:31 AM in response to carlsw39by celliott147,So you were using your old router for Wifi and the time capsule was simply a backup device, correct? If so, reset your device as Bob said, and follow his instructions to set up as a new device.

Aug 10, 2016 11:33 AM in response to celliott147by Bob Timmons,Let's wait and find out a bit more about the modem. For example, if the modem is delivering a PPPoA connection, the Time Capsule is not compatible with that type of connection. Fibre modem is another potential issue as well, as well as some satellite modems.

Aug 10, 2016 11:47 AM in response to carlsw39by crbennett,Do you know if you've configured your time capsule with Apple IDs for supporting Bonjour or BackToMyMac? You may have the same issue we're seeing. Search for this article I posted this morning: "Multiple Airport devices with Apple IDs disappear from shared devices and Airport Configuration software"
