Q: iPhone 5s will not completely turn on
About five days ago, my iPhone 5s was responding slow. I attempted to send a message and it would not send so I turned the phone off. When I attempted to turn it back on, it showed the apple logo and turned off again. I continued to repeat the same process and the same thing continued to happen. I then charged my phone for a day and still nothing. I proceeded to plug my phone into iTunes and used the lock and home button to try to turn it on. Although the phone did not turn on, iTunes asked if I wanted to update or restore. I attempted to update the phone but overtime i go through the process, it says, "Unknown error(6)" Both my mac and iTunes are updated and I do not want to restore the phone because it has not been backed up. Is there anything else I can do?

From your description I suspect the phone is not charging. See:
