Q: I downloaded OS X EL Captian and it froze??

Hey everyone!

 

I downloaded the new system, however it did not finish and ended up freezing on me. I wanted to start it again or trash it so I can download a new one but it won't let me do that either. It just says PAUSED, so I don't know what my next step will be.

 

Any ideas?

    Hey there, klove45! 

     

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! El Capitan is going to rock your world! It doesn't do much good in "Paused" mode though, so let's get that sorted! From Finder > Downloads, you can highlight the download and move it to your Trash. Don't forget to empty your trash bin afterwords. If you do not see the update in your Downloads folder, press "F4" or select the Launchpad icon from the dock on your desktop. Locate that paused download. Click and hold on the icon until an "X" appears in the upper left corner of the icon. Clicking that "X" will remove the download. Head back into your Mac App Store and download again. 

     

    Upgrade to OS X El Capitan
