Q: I dropped my iphone 4s in water but it still works?
I have actually dropped my phone in water before, but it worked fine afterwards, despite the fact that I didn't do anything. I dropped it in the toilet again today and it seemed to work fine, and i didn't think anything of it. All the sound worked, the screen and brightness seemed fine, and all the buttons work. My wifi wasn't working briefly, but the wifi in my house is a little shaky, and i turned it off and on and it was fine. I used it for over two hours afterwards and it was fine, until i noticed some water under the screen. I immediately looked up what I should do, turned my phone off, took out the sim card, and began tediously drying it with a hair dryer (I don't have any rice or silica gel), paying special attention to the battery as well as any opening in the phone. The hair dryer was on low, i kept it at a distance, and i have been monitoring it consistently so that the phone does not over heat. I dried it consistently for around 20-30 minutes, turned it on to check the screen, and the water mark has stopped growing (its in the top half of the screen) and it seems to have faded but i wonder if the water could have just dispersed. I have turned it on and off multiple times and it still seems fine.
I need to know if you think the phone will survive. Also, I cannot afford a new phone or to get it fixed right now, so if you have any tips that can be preformed by an amateur at home, then I would love to hear them. Thank you.
