I got an email regarding a refund from this address: musicstore_canada_mac@apple.com. Is this real?

Recently, I got a refund for an in app purchase. I got a response a few days later from musicstore_canada_mac@apple.com saying my purchase will be refunded in around 10 business days. What I found suspicious was that the email addressed me by Charlotte, a fake name I use on facebook and I don't recall using it anywhere else. Also, the email address looks sort of sketchy. What are your thoughts? If it is fake, what should I do about it?

Report to Apple and delete email.

I have only ever had a iTunes purchase refunded, and Apple didnt send me confirmation was just put back onto my card. I would just wait and see if the refund comes back on. Did you apply for the refund through apple directly?? If so could always ask them in a online chat via Apple Support under iTunes: https://getsupport.apple.com/

Any email from Apple will always be from @apple.com.

The email is not asking you to do anything. It’s simply telling you a refund can be expected.

It is still good to make sure the headers say it is from Apple, as outlined in the linked article earlier. It is possible to fake a sender address as normally displayed in mail browsers.
